In 1998, Pictorial embarked on
a plan to implement a continuous improvement process. Our dedication to
providing our clients with solutions from a world-class printing partner,
it led us to the International Organization for Standardization . Registration
for ISO 9001:2000, the Quality Management System, involves written documentation
of all procedures used to ensure repeatable performance for our product.
Once written, it is required that all employees are trained and then audited
by an outside, accredited organization. To confirm that the Quality Management
System is suitable, effective and continually improving, the outside auditors
are retained to perform biannual reviews.
Pictorial Offset's quality philosophy
involves a defect prevention approach rather than inspecting quality into
the product at a later stage. At Pictorial Offset, print quality is the
responsibility of everybody involved on a job. In order to recognize and
reward employees when they go "beyond the call of duty", Pictorial has
implemented a Find-a-Mistake Program. This policy empowers any employee
to stop a job in progress, regardless of schedule, and correct a mistake
before it is released to the public. As a result Pictorial's clients have
been saved over $1 million annually.
